With an astonishing income of INR 2,198.23 crore reported, Treasurer Ashish Shelar shared this momentous news during the BCCI Annual General Meeting held in Goa on Monday, September 25th.

A Fiscal Triumph

The present fiscal year has witnessed an astonishing turnaround for the BCCI, with its revenue skyrocketing to a staggering INR 6,558.80 crore. This remarkable surge in earnings, compared to the previous financial year’s income of INR 4,360.57 crore, underscores the BCCI’s remarkable resilience and adaptability in the face of adversity.

Navigating the Pandemic Challenge

Much like the entire sporting world, the BCCI navigated the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in a significant dip in revenue during the 2021-22 season. Treasurer Ashish Shelar attributed this downturn to the pandemic, stating, “This is to bring to your notice that due to Covid-19, the cricketing season in 21-22 was cut down to only three tournaments. The 2020-21 domestic season was in full force except for a few junior tournaments, such as U16, etc. However, the year 2022-23 brought back all the hopes and confidence to conduct the entire domestic season with enthusiasm.”
